School time is just around the corner in my neck of the woods. I am bummed summer is almost over, I love having my kids home but know getting back to a routine is a welcome change by the end of summer vacation.
It’s that time of year to drag your kids to the store and go over the long, torturous list of needed items for back to school supplies. But with all of the ho hum yellow pencils kids have to bring to school why not jazz them up a bit with some flags to remind your kiddos to stay positive while in school and know that you are thinking of them. The first few days back to school can be nerve wracking for anyone, but let’s start the year off with a little extra something.
You can use washi tape to add to pencils, or create your own flags but if you kiddo is a wee bit nervous, seeing the love note on the end of the pencil just might make them feel a tiny bit better. Plus, this craft only takes a few minutes to complete. So stinkin’ simple!
Supplies Needed To Make Adorable Back To School Pencil Flags
This is pretty simple – you need writing utensils – any kind will do. You need the printout, get it here. And last but not least you need adhesive. I chose to use double sided tape, but you could use any type of adhesive you happen to have around the house. It will all work. Oh, oops you need scissors of course to cut out the flags. Super simple!
Step 1 – gather all of your supplies. Download the pencil flag printable. Collect, double side tape (or your favorite adhesive), scissors, pencils. Cut out the flags.
Step 2 – Flip over a flag and add a long strip of double sided tape and adhere it to the back.
Step 3 – Attach the flag to the pencil. I preferred to add it right below the silver medal bracket. Tip – the flags are longer than need be. Start with how far you want the front of the flag to hang over the edge of the pencil. Then wrap it around the back and connect the front and back together.
Step 4 – Once the flag is attached to the pencil, trim any excess away.
